London to Paris Cycle Ride Raises £17,000 (and rising)
When you have not ridden a bike for years, the idea of a London to Paris cycle ride would daunt anyone -but not Rob Greaves!
Fired up by the great charity work the Opal Foundation wish to complete with AMREF in Kechene, Addis Ababa, Rob and 14 other willing participants took part in a London to Paris cycle ride between 7th-10th September 2011.
The team raised an astonishing £17,000... and rising!.
This great event will go a long way to achieving the target of £35k for clean water and sanitation in the Kechene slum, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Along the way, the team encountered rain, wind, punctures, saddle soreness, rehydrated food... and being chased by a big French dog which would not respond to the command 'Sit!'
Their ride took them through the South Downs, across the Channel, through historic French Villages, before finishing off at the Eiffel Tower.
