Opal 1 Newport – University of Wales Agreement

Opal has signed a nominations agreement with the University of Wales, Newport, to host 150 students at the brand new Opal Newport hall. Opal Newport’s first students and keyworkers will arrive in September 2008. The hall has 440 bedrooms, common room with Sky TV and vending machines, a laundrette and a bike store.
‘This will provide much needed extra accommodation for the thousands of students who are choosing Newport as a place to study.
The flats are very attractively designed to meet the needs of today’s students, with en-suite bedrooms and spacious communal areas’

Newport is benefitting from significant regeneration, alongside the Hall there is a theatre, new shopping centre, as well as car parks, offices, residential and hotels. The main university campus will transfer to an adjacent site in 2010.
