Main purpose of job: To ensure all operational outlets are serviced and maintained at a four star standard


Key tasks and Responsibilities:


Breakfast and Customer Service


• To supervise the breakfast operation to ensure the service runs smoothly and to the set standard
• To train the team on a daily basis leading from the front and auditing each staff member to identify training needs 
• To take a hands on approach to lead the team, covering day to day duties and rotered shifts when required. 
• Preparing, restocking and clearing of breakfast buffet table continuously monitoring the content at all times to ensure we are offering breakfast to an acceptable standard
• Serving and waiting on within the breakfast area
• Leadership of the F&B staff in providing four star service within the restaurant 
• Ensuring the clearing away of used dishes & cutlery from tables to a set standard 
• Cleaning and setting up bar and restaurant tables to a set four star standard and efficiency
• To supervise and maintain the cleanliness of all F&B areas at all times
• Serving of food in line with current health and safety regulations at all times
• Liaison with the chef in relation to stock requirements to effectively service breakfast
• To oversee the effective provision of room service breakfast to the set four star standard 


Bar

• Supervising The Place Hotel policies and procedures e.g. end of shift banking ensuring all monies are reconciled on a daily basis
• To ensure efficient stock rotation and control on a daily basis
• Maintain the standard of cleanliness in the bar area at all times.
• Ensuring all rubbish and bottle bins are emptied to a standard frequency 
• Maintain high standard of cleanliness on The Place equipment; coffee machine, coffee grinder, ice machine, fridges & glass washer
• Ensure all equipment is in full working order, complying with set health and safety guidelines at all times
• Carry out manufacturers instructions on all machinery to retain ‘best performance’ guidelines
• Ensure daily and weekly cleaning check sheets are carried out as and when required
• Ensure glasses are renovated weekly
• Operating an electronic point of sale system, currently Micros to manage the business accurately
• Responsible for own cash, prepare float and cash-up at end of shift – Hence the shift is not finished until this is done.
• Supervise the provision of bar food service and provision of room service for both food and beverage



Conferences and functions


• Setting up functions and conference rooms to a set four star standard  as per the function sheet instructions
• Ensure the team are effectively trained to provide outstanding and timely customer service to all events within the hotel at all times
• To supervise and provide outstanding service to all functions within the function suite 
• To manage agency staff required for larger functions
• To act as master of ceremonies and oversee food service for all wedding or function business
• To actively work with sales and operations to ensure effective communication of conferences and events at all times
• To supervise the set up and clear down of all functions, conferences and events are completed to the required standard at all times     


General


• To provide excellent customer service to a set four star standard, serving customers in a polite, friendly and helpful manner
• Attend regular departmental and hotel staff meetings
• Due to the sporadic nature of the event / conference business flexibility is required to ensure we meet demand
• Minimum 40 hours per week, however, again flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business  

• Any other task deemed necessary by management.
