Description
Job Title: Food and Beverage Assistant
Reporting to: Bar Supervisor/Front of House Manager
Important Internal
Relationships: Reception, Housekeeping, Management, Nights
Important External
Relationships: Customers, Head office, suppliers
Main purpose of job: To ensure the bar area and room service function is maintained at a four star standard
Key tasks and Responsibilities:
• Serving customers in a polite, friendly and helpful manner
• Operating an electronic point of sale – currently Micros
• Implementing The Place Hotel policies and procedures e.g. end of shift banking and cleaning procedure
• Preparing, restocking and clearing of breakfast buffet table
• Clearing away used dishes & cutlery from tables when customers are finished.
• Cleaning tables ready for next customers
• Clearing the floor of any rubbish as and when needed
• Re-stock fridges implementing a ‘stock rotation’ system.
• Keep bar area clean and tidy at all times.
• Empty rubbish and bottle bins as and when needed.
• Maintain high standard of cleanliness on The Place equipment; coffee machine, coffee grinder, ice machine, fridges & glass washer
• Ensure Line cleaning is carried out weekly
• Ensure glasses are renovated weekly
• Carry out manufacturers instructions on machines to retain ‘best performance’ guidelines
• Responsible for own cash, prepare float and cash-up at end of shift – Hence the shift is not finished until this is done.
• Attend regular departmental and hotel staff meetings
• Serving of food from bar in line with health and safety regulations.
• Any other task deemed necessary by management.
