Description
CLEANING STAFF RELATIONSHIPS: • To work under the supervision of the Hall Manager and Assistant Manager (in the Hall Managers absence). • To work closely with other members of the team at the Hall. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Using appropriate cleaning products/equipment (as supplied), the following to be completed regularly (as agreed with Hall Manager): - all communal areas of hall including stairwells and core entrances to be fully vacuumed removing any chewing gum/carpet stains as necessary • To assist with summer cleaning – deep clean of student bedrooms including en suites and deep clean of communal kitchens including appliances – as required by Hall Manager SKILLS REQUIRED: • Honesty and reliability
- all communal areas of hall scrub/wipe down skirting boards, clean door/window glass, remove rubbish from bins/general, sweep/mop flooring (where applicable), remove kick marks from doors, wipe down handrails.
- Sweep and mop internal areas of lifts, remove chewing gum, rubbish, clean glass (where applicable)
- Wipe over communal post boxes removing dust/dirt
- Office – fully vacuum carpets removing chewing gum/carpet stains as necessary, scrub/wipe down skirting boards, clean door/window glass, remove rubbish from bins, remove kick marks from doors, polish desks and surrounding furniture.
- Staff w.c. – sweep/mop vinyl floor, sanitise toilet/wash basins, scrub/wipe down skirting boards, clean toilet brush/mirror, replace towel and toilet rolls as required.
- Staff kitchen – sweep/mop vinyl floor, sanitise preparation worktop and table, scrub/wipe down skirting boards, remove rubbish, wipe fridge inside/out, replace bin liners/towels as required.
• To assist with other duties as required over the summer period e.g. carpet cleaning
• Be firm yet friendly to the students and to ensure that help is offered where needed.
• Ability to work alone as well as part of a team.
• To appraise and comply with Health and Safety Policies and procedures as laid out in the Health and Safety statement.
• To comply with all policies and procedures stipulated in the staff handbook.
• To contribute constructively at internal meetings by airing views, expressing opinions and suggesting ways of improvement.
• To attend any training made available to you and take responsibility for your development
• Other general duties as required.
